Who are we?

We are a group of anglers who enjoy the sport of bass fishing,
competing in a friendly, open environment. We fish a variety of different
types of waters, from "trolling motor" only lakes to Lake Erie, in about 12
tournaments per year. We are a B.A.S.S. Federation club, competing for
the opportunity to fish in B.A.S.S. Federation events. We are a small
cub, not to exceed 30 members. We are active in enhancing the public
knowledge of the sport, by sharing knowledge, educating our youth,
practicing "catch and release", and demonstrating innovative
environmental and conservation methods.

Latest Info and Updates --

Greetings all,

Another season comes to a close. It was close to the finish as I choked and could not catch a keeper fish in the last two tournaments to hold off Keith and Dave, and Keith Maupin passed me to take Angler of the Year. Congrats to Keith for a great year.

This year our classic was held at Rend Lake. Dave Teuschler had a strong lead on day one with 5 fish for 8.25. Followed by Jim Walker with 3 fish for 6.09 and Keith Maupin in 3rd with 3 fish for 5.79. Day two was a bit different - Dave T brought in two for 3.52 which only earned him 4th place. Dave Ramer had a strong second day with 4 fish for 9.62 totaling with day one, at 14.19 good enough for 3rd place. Steve Statman found 5 fish on day two with a 5.29 big bass totaling 15.10 for second place and big bass. Keith finished strong with 5 fish for 9.62 totaling 15.41 earning him first place - CONGRATS TO ALL top four as we paid top 4.

I want to give a special thanks to two gentlemen which took time out of their busy days to talk to me, and give me advice for this years classic (not about where on each area to fish - but only info about the body of water). Matt Adams owner of Rend Lake Fishing Guides - www.rendlakefishingguides.com - and Larry D. from Larry's Fishing Hole - www.larrysfishinghole.com - Both gentleman were very insightful and knowledgeable about various waters in Illinois, and gave me plusses and minuses about each lake I was considering. Check our their websites and utilize their services if you are in there area.  I have also put a link to them on our "links" page.

Big stringer for the year goes to Joe Roberts for his one day 17.30 lb stringer at St. Clair.

Big bass for the year goes to Steve Statman for the 5.29 caught on the last day of the year to sneak past Dave Ramer's 4.93 which had held the lead since the 3rd tourney of the year.

There are changes happening within East Fork Bass Anglers. Elections for officers will take place at our December meeting and we have some new faces in the running with a few member stepping down. We want to thank those stepping down for there dedicated service and hard work. Roger Kellough has resigned as V-P and Youth Director. Roger has done an outstanding job coordinating Kid's Day Fishing Derby, which us and Clermont County Parks put on every May. Jim Walker is stepping down as Tournament director and has done an excellent job in all the years he has done that job. Joe Roberts is making a lateral move giving up Secretary to run for Tourney Director. Joe has done a great job at keeping outstanding records for our meetings and events. Thanks again gentlemen...
