Ways to Effectively Disinfect Your Office From COVID-19

In Ohio and in other states in the United States, offices are closing down and employees are now working remotely to limit exposure and the spread of COVID-19. Nationwide, many factories, offices, and schools have been closing. The World Health Organization (WHO) has defined the coronavirus as a large family of viruses known to cause respiratory infections to various degrees, from the common cold to more severe symptoms.

During these rapidly changing and uncertain times regarding the coronavirus pandemic, it is important to take extra cleaning measures to lower the risk of potentially becoming infected and/or being a carrier of the virus. The closure of open environment and cubicle office spaces also allows employers’ workforces to practice social distancing.

At this time, making precautionary changes and steps for the safety and health of your employees and family members is extremely necessary as confirmed cases in the U.S. continue to rise everyday. Taking the extra time to sanitize your personal or public office space could end up making a significant difference in the end.

As inventory of cleaning products like Purell, DAWN, Clorox, and Lysol are now becoming hard to find in grocery, hardware, and convenient stores in the tri-state. A question you may have is, what other chemicals have been known to effectively kill and clean an environment from the virus?

The EPA has published a list of chemicals that meet their criteria that will kill and fight against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19.

Ohio Building Services inc. is taking the pandemic seriously by using chemicals confirmed as effective by the EPA in combating the virus. Our commercial cleaning company uses a disinfectant called Trinity which is a hospital-grade disinfectant and virucidal cleaner. It is EPA Registration # 1839-169 on the EPA website of disinfectants for use against SARS-COV-2.

Information available on Trinity Disinfectant Cleaner and Deodorizers’ website explains that the chemical is a phosphate-free, pH neutral formulation that is designed to provide effective cleaning, deodorizing, and disinfection for hospitals, nursing homes, schools, food processing plants, grocery stores, food service establishments, office buildings, manufacturing facilities, lodging establishments, retail business, athletic/recreation facilities and convention centers where housekeeping is an essential component in controlling cross-contamination from treated surfaces. They also describe Trinity as a product that is a one step neutral disinfectant that is effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria, is virucidal* (including HIV-1, HIV-2, HBV and HCV) and inhibits the growth of mold and mildew and their odors when used as directed. When using this product as it is initial intended, the formula has been proven to be effective in disinfecting environmental surfaces such as: floors, walls, metal surfaces, stainless steel, tables, chairs, desks, bed frames, walls, cabinets, doorknobs, garbage cans, glazed ceramic tile, plastic surfaces, play equipment, exercise equipment, exercise and wrestling mats, shower stalls, bathtubs, toilets and urinals.

To complement Trinity and to amp up our method of decreasing the spread of the virus, we've also incorporated PureGreen24 which is EPA Registration # 72977-3 on the EPA website of disinfectants for use against SARS-COV-2.

Ohio Building Services is wishing you, your employees, and family members the best of health!
